This custom in-house design was built using locally sourced elements. Hand-finished walnut floors & trim work, custom designed walnut panels inset with locally fabricated brass, rich hand-tufted custom upholstery, a Turkish Ottoman designed specifically for this project, and a Shou Sugi Ban (charred in-house at Lewin Construction) desk and accent wall are just some of the details that make this project so unique!
If you are a builder who loves using the natural materials of the earth, then you pretty much have to build at least one treehouse. This project was so fun, we would love to design even more! Hand-produced Shou Sugi Ban is featured throughout on the bathroom walls, the divider, and the exterior siding. Features like reclaimed antique doors and windows, hand-finished rough sawn local walnut flooring, and site-gathered natural pickets on the deck make this luxurious treehouse may have just grown right out of the tree.
Every home we build takes a piece of our heart. Like this recent project in CLoudland Station. It’s a custom build featuring a cedar and copper shake roof, exposed solid white oak beams and cyprus siding. We are honored by it’s nomination for “Project of the Year” with Coppercraft.
Leahaven is a custom design/ build home for Herb and Susan Lea. They came to us with an idea and we turned it into a lovely home situated in a beautiful location. The Leas share Leahaven as a place of peace and respite for weary missionaries in addition to being a family gathering place. With wonderful design elements utilizing traditional craftsmanship and all natural products, we were able to craft a dream into reality.
This design build by Lewin Construction is a mirror reflection of her sister home across the street “Azure Reflections”, is a perfect blend of the old world, craftsman style, and all the modern conveniences. Sure to set a new benchmark for what quality construction means with solid white oak beams and stone from local sustainable sources, this home that sold after being on the market only six hours has become home to the new owners.
A mix of old world and craftsman style with all the modern conveniences this house and it’s sister house “Hazel Reflections” set a new benchmark for what quality construction means. With solid white oak beams and stone from local sustainable sources, our houses will be enjoyed by their new owners for years to come.
This beautiful older home needed a few updates. We added a rear dormer, a staircase and converted the attic into additional living space, reorganized the downstairs space, added a brand new kitchen and master bath, and patched and refinished the hardwood floors on the main level of the home. It was great to be able to maintain the key architectural features that make this home so warm and inviting, preserving the old while making this a modern home that will last for generations to come.
This St. Elmo “French Cottage” was a beautiful backdrop for the 1,000 sq ft addition we built onto the home in St. Elmo. The addition included a master suite, family room, and guest room/office with additional full bath and expanded laundry space.
Sitting atop Hawkins Ridge, this home was crafted to take advantage of the beautiful views surrounding Lookout Mountain.
This beautiful St. Elmo home was designed to fit with the style and feel of other homes in the St. Elmo area while offering the energy efficiency and amenities of a modern home. The timber craftsmanship found in both the exterior and interior, give this home a unique yet traditional feel.
